Obituary of Elsie Roberta Goble

Elsie Roberta Goble, age 82, born November 29, 1935 in Apache, Oklahoma to Olten and Vera Cook, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

Elsie was preceded in death by two sisters Marjorie Hill, Pansy Durre and Ruby Cook and two brothers Leo Cook and Ralph Cook

She is survived by daughters, Lydia Greer Julia Lynn; sons, Steve Walden and Shawn Walden; grandchildren, Jazmine, Joshua, Tiffany, Stacey, Taeler, Katelyn, James, Caleb, April, Kaeli and Davin; 10 great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, Henry Cook and Charles Cook.

Elsie accepted Christ at an early age.  She loved the Lord and took her Christianity very serious.  Elsie graduated from Midwest Christian College in 1959.   She was a faithful member of Forest Hills Christian Church and later in life, Tyler Christian Church.  She enjoyed playing the piano for the church and teaching Sunday school.  She was a friend and blessing to many during her life and will be missed. She enjoyed gardening and raising her many animals; horses, ducks, chickens, and her beloved Collies on her farm in Tyler. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 TX HWY 64, in Tyler, Texas.  Burial will immediately follow in the Tyler Memorial Cemetery.

There will also be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Town and Country Christian Church, 2200 Cromwell Drive, in Yukon, Oklahoma.
