Obituary of Sandra Delores Sedita Smith

Sandra Delores Sedita Smith was born in Houston's St. Joseph's hospital on July 23, 1941. She grew up in the Heights in a two story home her father built on Michaux and 14th.  She passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 24, 2025 at the age of 83.

She graduated from St. Pius high school in its first graduating class and then attended Massey business college. She worked and retired from Stewart and Stevenson. She was a proud member of the Amiketos club. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas T. Sedita, mother, Ada Sedita and sister, Patricia Hannah. She is survived by two sisters, Judith Byrne and Tommie Lee Sedita; three children, Ricky Smith, Vicky Cantu and husband Thomas Cantu, Melissa Wismeg and husband Mark Wismeg;  grandchildren Stephanie WallaceBradley and husband David WallaceBradley,  Bryan Wismeg and Ashley Cantu, they were her heart. Pallbearers: Gordon Byrne, Scott Byrne, Michael Lyons, Bernie Garia, Mike Garcia, Mark Wismeg, Thomas Cantu and David Wallace Bradley. 

She had the kindest heart and most beautiful soul as everyone knew. It's hard to describe the pain our family is going through but we were there for her until she passed at home, as she wanted.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a,m, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street in Houston, Texas.
