Obituary of Warren Wood Babcock III
Warren "Woody" Wood Babcock III, 65, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2025. Woody was born on December 12, 1959, to Dr. Warren Wood Babcock Jr. and Virginia Kincannon Babcock in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In 1978, he graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford, Illinois, and in 1983, he earned his degree from the University of Utah, where he became a beloved member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.
Woody enjoyed a successful 33-year career in finance, where he was consistently recognized as a top performer. In 2017, he achieved his lifelong dream of owning his own business. As a car dealership owner, he combined his passion for cars and finance, applying his extensive knowledge of both.
On March 10, 1995, Woody married Jeanne Chadey in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved to Texas and raised two daughters, Alexandra (AJ) and Katherine. Woody became a devoted supporter of the UT Austin Longhorns, where AJ and Katherine graduated.
Woody had a deep love for skiing and was an exceptional skier. When he wasn’t on the slopes in Utah, he could often be found biking the many trails around The Woodlands. He was deeply committed to his children, wife, and employees. He greatly admired hard work and instilled this value in his daughters.
Woody was preceded in death by his father, Warren Babcock Jr.; his father-in-law, Henry Chadey; his brothers-in-law, Andrew Dun and Michael Chadey; and his rescue dog, Odie. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughters, Alexandra (AJ) and Katherine; his mother, Virginia Babcock; his sisters, Carolyn Dun and Ginny (Doug) Feeney; ten nieces and nephews; and his rescue dog and best friend, Buddy.
