Obituary of Alexandro Rodriguez

Please share a memory of Alexandro to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Alexandro Rodriguez, of Houston, Texas, died unexpectedly on December 7, 2023. He was 36 years old. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death from a short bout of pneumonia. Alex was born in 1987, attended Bellaire High School and the Contemporary Learning Center. He also attended Pershing Middle School and Condit Elementary School.

Alex was a musician, composer and producer. He composed and wrote lyrics for 500 songs. He was an excellent chef and an excellent eater. Alex enjoyed physical fitness and could be seen riding his bicycle around the streets and bayous of Houston. He was self-taught in economics and political science and was always driven to promote economic freedom. He was an idealist and true Indigo child who questioned everything and spoke his mind if he felt something needed to be said. Family was important to him. He loved his family and was very affectionate. His beautiful dog Bella was his pride and joy, but he loved all dogs and cats. They always sought him out.

Alex was a people person and liked to make people laugh and be happy. He enjoyed life by just being. He recently discovered his acting chops in voice and comedy and was preparing to be in his first play in January. He struggled with addiction for many years but had made a turn for the better and we were discovering him all over again. He was happy to see his brother get married and was looking forward to becoming an uncle.

Everyone who knew Alex knew about his generosity. Although not always in a financial position to give he certainly gave what he had whether it was cooking for someone, helping them move or taking them to their medical appointments, even putting people up for the night because they had no place to go. Alex was a ball of energy and enjoyed the outdoors. Alex was preceded in death by his father Jose Rodriguez, is survived by his mother Lilibeth Andre, his brother Wolfgang Minskey, sister-in-law Jessica, grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, step family and friends. We will miss him, his energy, his sense of humor and inquisitiveness.

A private natural burial will be held by family members on Friday, December 15. A potluck celebration of life will take place at Unity of Houston, 2929 Unity Drive, Houston, Texas 77057, from 4 to 6 pm.

If you wish to contribute in Alex’s memory your donation can be made to Covenant House Texas or any housing organization for those in need. Please love those in your life.
