I remember Folly as a singularly intelligent and thought-inspiring woman. I can honestly say I have never met another person like her, and I remember her fondly. I loved the way she would sit and listen to jazz, or curl up in her chair to recant a humorous family story. She had great insight into the books she was reading and would discuss them with you with incredible thoughtfulness; she chose her words carefully and each was full of meaning and wisdom. Folly had a distinct sense of style, and the wine labels in her kitchen and the history behind them were a stroke of genius. I still laugh over her rewordings of some of the lyrics to a popular tune in "Jesus Christ Superstar,' which needless to say, was not her favorite musical. One could see the love and pride in her eyes whenever she would speak of Nicole and Putnam. I am thinking of you all at this time and sending you my love. I am so honored that I had the chance to know Folly. She had a lasting and truly wonderful influence on my life.

Abe and I send our condolences to the family. We remember Folly as vivacious, intelligent, self-confident and curious. All members of the Hinds family were very kind to me in 1980 when I lived with Georgia for many months during a tough time for me. I find it hard to believe that Folly Roberts is gone. She leaves with me memories of kindness and thoughtfulness. I know her to be a person who valued knowledge and excellence far more than material things. Folly was a wonderful role model for young people and a wonderful friend to those around her.
