Obituary of Jose Limas

Jose Limas went to the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the age of 79. He passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas with his family by his side.
Jose was born in La Joya, Texas on August 22, 1937 and he attended La Joya ISD where he met the love of his life. Jose married his high school sweetheart, Maria Irma Jackson on July 21, 1961. They were happily married for 55 years and raised three lovely children in Houston, Texas.
Jose was a dedicated employee of Wyatt Industries USI and later became a plant operator for Houston Independent School District from which he retired after many years of service. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Houston Astros, Houston Oilers and Houston Texans. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved teaching his children and grandchildren to be great sportsmen.
Jose has been a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church for over 50 years where he served as an usher and volunteered as a member of the Men’s Club. His greatest achievement was becoming a 4th Degree Sir Knight with the Knights of Columbus Bishop Odin Council 2917. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Jim Azzarello for his assistance in achieving his goal and he served the Council proudly.
Jose Limas is survived by his wife, Maria Irma Limas and his children, Anna Maria Garcia, Jose Javier Limas, and Lydia Esther Clifton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalia A. Gonzalez, Christina E. Garcia, Alyssa S. So, Aaron L. Limas, Eli D. Limas, Anthony D. Clifton and Sean A. Clifton. As well as his Great Grandchildren, Ariana M. Gonzalez, Sean C. Espinoza, Ethan A. Espinoza, and Madalyn K Espinoza. Jose is survived also by two sisters, Angelita (Chita) Gonzalez (Jose), and Maria Elena Bermundez (Carmelo), and countless nieces, nephews and family members.
Jose is proceeded in death by his parents, Natividad Limas, Soila (Reyna) Limas, brothers Leonardo Limas, Ricardo Limas, his sister Sara (Limas) Martinez, and his niece, Maria (Limas) Nieto.
The Limas family would like to extend their thanks to everyone for their prayers, thoughts and kind words. Jose Limas touched the hearts of many people and for that we are grateful to have been a part of the life of such a loving, kind and wonderful man.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016. All services will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road in Houston.
