I am just now seeing this, 5 years after Father Bruce’s passing. I met him and Father David around 1976 through Marriage Encounter in Dallas. I spent many hours with him and Father David during Marriage Encounter weekends as my husband and I were an Administrative couple as well as presenters during the 1970’s. Then in the late 90’s saw them both again at a chance encounter at M.D. Anderson in Houston and we spent some time together. . I was able to attend mass given by Father David at M.D. Anderson chapel. They both made an indelible impact on my life. I will never forget them and the love and joy they shared with all. Rest In Peace.

My condolences to the family at this time of sorrow. May you find true hope for your loved one as you read Jesus' promise at John 5:28,29 which Jesus himself will deliver in the future on earth. It is comforting knowing that death was never part of God's purpose for humanity, therefore all the pain that it has caused will be undone by means of a resurrection. Until then, may Jehovah, the God of all comfort, give you the strength you need to endure.

Father Bruce was my chaplain when I was dying in 2000 and needed a lifesaving liver transplant. We prayed together, and had some extraordinary spiritual things happen to both of us. One occurred when he gave me the sacrament of the Annointing of the Sick. Another happened exactly 17 years ago today when we prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to God together on my birthday, 2 days after my transplant. I will never forget the astonishing things that happened to the two of us, and I will never forget Father Bruce. He filled my life with joy! Rest in peace, o "...good and faithful servant", and may you know how much you were loved!

Father Bruce was a supportive pastor during the ministry we shared together on the chaplain staff in the Texas Medical Center. He was available to those who ask for his ministry and spent his time with grieving family members. I am most grateful for his welcoming spirit to everyone.

I will miss Father Bruce very much. He and his brother Father David were two incredible Priests. They would host those of us on the Catholic Chaplain Corp of St. Luke's and Methodist Hospital in their home for a meal and a beautiful sharing of our Ministry. I will never forget these two Priests who impacted my life. Because of them, I had a healing at a Beginning Experience weekend many years ago.
Father Bruce taught me so much while serving under him at Methodist Hospital. He had a love for his patients and taught me so much while serving under him. He knew the pressures of this important Ministry and knew just how to help me so I didn't experience burnout. He was insightful, kind and compassionate. I will miss him dearly.
I was blessed to be with Father David just before his passing. I don't live in Houston, so I wasn't aware Father Bruce was very ill. I will remember these two Priests in my prayers.
May God Bless their family and all who loved Father David and Father Bruce.
