Obituary of Robert Michael DeWitte

Robert Michael DeWitte, “Mike,” age 60, was born in Houston, Texas, on January 24, 1957, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ebra DeWitte, brother Joel, sister Judith, and his favorite dogs, Sonny and Petey. Mike is survived by his daughters Christine Martinez, Jennifer Kubicek, and siblings Janice, Kenneth, David, and Randall. Other surviving family members include grandchildren Lauren, Danielle, Benina, Caley, Saydee, and Reece as well as many nieces and nephews.

He shared his father’s love for the outdoors, cars, and music. Family was important to him; he “lived for his kids & grandkids” he would often say. It brought him great joy to shower loved ones with gifts and celebrate special events, which he got from his mother.  Mike had a strong bond with all his siblings that could not be broken. You could always count on him to be well groomed, have a joke on standby or crunch numbers on the spot. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 14th at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott St., Houston, Texas, 77007, with a viewing from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service and motorcade procession to Woodlawn Cemetery, located at 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, Texas, 77055.
