Obituary of Barbara Ann Purpera
Barbara Ann Purpera, born January 17, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday November 1, 2017, in The Woodlands, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ignatius “Hucky” Purpera; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Kimberly Purpera; and her daughter and son-in-law, Candis and Doug Jobes. Barbara was the proud grandmother of eight, Jacob Purpera, Elysia Garcia, Kylie Ann Purpera, Nathan Jobes, Issac Jobes, Adam Jobes, Mary Jobes, and Sarah Jobes. She is also survived by her brother James Bayne, her sisters Ellen Tucker and Thelma Swartz, and her Aunt Lorene Suggs.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father John Gordon Bayne, her mother Eleanor Suggs, and her Aunt and Uncle Janie and Bill Tomlin, as well as her Uncle John Suggs.
Barbara enjoyed surrounding herself with her family and friends every chance possible. She was a dedicated member of her church, loved singing in her church choir, and enjoyed helping in the nursery. She was known as “Mama Barbie” to her grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
We will be honoring the life of Barbara Ann Purpera with a viewing and visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5000 College Park Drive, in Conroe, Texas.
