I was lucky enough to "inherit" Donia as a friend as she was close to my aunt, Motsy Pfeffer, who raised me after the loss of my mother. At the time of my marriage she attended some of the parties given for me and my fiancée and I still cherish and use the lovely place mats and napkins she so lovingly embroidered for me to match our dishes. Donia was sweet and caring and thoughtful and I feel blessed to have known her.

Even though there was not a Caspersen in my class I still knew many of them. Your mother was always so sweet and kind. I loved running in to her and visiting and talking about St. Anne's and the friends and family that we both knew. She always seemed that she was in love with life. She was such a happy person. I am so glad to have known her.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

A beautiful angel is now back home in Heaven! There is much rejoicing!
My favorite Donia story...
Driving to Houston from Austin to see a matinee performance of Miss Saigon, I suddenly found myself with an extra ticket. I called Donia last minute to see if she wanted to join us. Without skipping a beat, she said, “Sure! I have a brunch at 10 and a dinner party tonight so yes I would love to go!”
What a bundle of love and energy!
Love always,
Mary

Dear Caspersons All,
We both thought that your mom's service was lovely and truly a team effort by her loving family.... with her " profile" being followed, it surely pleased Donia and Charlie along with all other family members, heavenly and earthly. Indeed, a fine tribute to a fine lady and marvelous Christian role model for all.
No doubt, she will be missed by many, but a finer "send off" we've rarely seen...

Momma Donia was an incredible blessing in my life. She brought so much joy and peace to all who knew her. I know a gaping hole will be left in many hearts but she is now singing with Jesus. No more pain as she dances on the streets of gold! Comfort and grace to all!

I was so sad to hear today from Carol of the loss of your Mom. I have so many great memories of being at your house, I have to share with you my last visit with your Mom, Since I live in Arkansas, and my dad had moved to Navasota, I was only in Houston for St. Anne's reunions. My last visit with her was absolutely amazing. She talked about my Mom, who we lost in 1973. She said that Mom was her best friend, that they talked on the phone every day. My Mom was older and Donia said she had always admired her, they were both Beaumont girls who went to St. Anthony's high school. Donia told us about moving to Houston and through an ad for something my Mom had to sell they connected, and they were best friends from then on. I love to think that after all these years the friends are together again! My love to you all! She was one of a kind!!!!!

My sisters I have fond memories of going to school with you girls at St. Agnes. I enjoyed Cindy and Doni while Susan got to be with Colleen. She and Larry Massey had the honor of serving with your mother in the Serra Club. I always enjoyed visiting with her when I went. She was lovely - inside and out, always attentive to those around her and such a fun-loving person. I know God has her in the palm of His hand and pray for consolation of each member of your family.

Donia was one of the most beautiful person I knew.,Not only was she a beautiful lady in her outward apperance but
she was so beautiful on the inside. Her heart was so full of love and she showered this love on everyone she met.
When we first sent our children to St Anne's she and Charlie accepted us, Vincent and our family, with open arms and the four of us became very good friends. I always told Donia that she was my mentor. She was truly a gift to all those she met.
She had a long good life and now I am so happy for her because now she is with Our Saviour and Charlie. I can just visualize Charlie with a big grin on his face with open arms.
She was a" LADY" I truly admired.
Sincerely, Joyce Rachal

Sincerest condolences to the Caspersen family. Aunt Donia was such a sweet and loving woman. I can remember each time we visited how welcome she always made us feel. May she rest in blissful peace eternal.

Dear Caspersons,
I cannot begin to express my condolences on the passing of Aunt Donia. What a loving and sweet woman she was. I will never forget her smile, laughter and hugs. She always had an encouraging and supportive word and of course a twinkle in her eye. She was most truly blessed in her life on earth. Now she will sing with all the Saints of God in her heavenly home. Uncle Charlie probably bumped our Lord out of the way to be the first to embrace her in paradise!
Know that on Thursday evening, at 6:00 I will be praying my Rosary in the presence of the tabernacle here in Springfield at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. I will miss not being with all of you, my MANY Cousins during these days. Know of my love and prayers for each of you!
Eternal Rest grant unto her O Lord, and Perpetual Light shine upon her. May her soul Rest In Peace. —Scott Keen and Johna, Polly Jr. & John.
