Obituary of Scot Paulson
Scot Christopher Paulson, born 1973 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Kathryn and Lynne Paulson, passed away in a cycling accident on Saturday, 14 April, 2018, in Walker Co, Texas.
Scot was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ardis and Orell Paulson as well as two uncles, Loche and Richard Paulson.
He is survived by his wife, Meghan (McCarthy) Paulson; his parents, Lynne (Darlene) Paulson of West Bend, WI; and Kathryn Paulson of West Bend, WI; his sister Sheila (Jayme) Cernicka of Colgate, WI; brother Matthew (Eric) Paulson of New York, NY; extended family, including nieces Brynn and Ellie Peralta of Frisco, TX, whom he adored; aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws (McCarthy family) and wonderful friends from around the world.
Scot was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and long-time employee of Schlumberger who had worked in Houston, Laredo, Siberia and the Gulf Coast. He was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed the outdoors (especially his property near Sam Houston National Forest), hunting, fireworks, cycling in Memorial Park in Houston and long walks along Buffalo Bayou.
He had a great smile that accompanied his sense of humour, enjoyed both gourmet food and the deep-fried delicacies of Rodeo Houston, and loved tinkering with his bike and other projects around his home and property. A life-long nature lover, he had recently become an amateur arborist and enthusiast on local flora and fauna.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, 20 April at 2:00 p.m. at CrossPoint Community Church in Katy, Texas.
