Obituary of Michael James Philip
Michael James “Mike” Philip, of Humble, Texas, died unexpectedly July 25, 2018. Mike was the father of Tempestt of Attleboro, MA., and Gracie Jo of Humble, TX, and son of Don and Lynn Philip of West Springfield, MA.
Mike was a devoted father, a beloved uncle, and a talented and well-loved manager. He was extremely intelligent, a talented artist who had a passion for music and fast cars, and was an avid Patriots fan. Mike also had an uncanny ability to stir the pot in a fun-loving way, and will be remembered for the gleam in his eye as he did so.
The oldest, Mike is survived by his siblings, Maria Marshall (Tom), Brice, Elizabeth (Derek), David (Phetsamone) and Rosemarie Philip, and many nieces and nephews.
He earned an MBA from Cambridge College, was a valued manager at Plastipak in East Longmeadow, and an MIS Project Services Supervisor for Niagara Bottling at the time of his death.
Mike’s passing leaves a large void in the hearts of family, friends and co-workers alike.
A gathering and Celebration of Life will held at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home, Wednesday August 1, 2018 from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at St. Thomas Church, in West Springfield. A private Rite of Committal will follow.
