Obituary of Salaam Ibrahim Shatleh
Salaam Ibrahim Shatleh, 24, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Salaam was born in Houston, Texas on September 24, 1993. She was a kind, caring and loving daughter, sister, and friend.
Always the first to lend a helping hand, Salaam found the most joy out of helping and caring for others with her thoughtfulness and attention to detail. A caregiver to all, Salaam was especially passionate about helping children and pursuing a career as a pediatric nurse.
She attended St. George Orthodox Christian Church where she volunteered and was active in their youth group, Teen SOYO. This past March she spent her Spring Break volunteering in Tijuana, Mexico where she helped build homes for orphans. Salaam also loved taking care of her cousins’ children as well as many other children in her church community, whom she loved and adored very much. She was known to be the first to teach a child how to pray. Part of her nurturing spirit included her passion for cooking and spoiling her family and friends. May her memory be eternal.
Salaam is survived by her parents, Ibrahim and Sawsan Shatleh; sister, Mary; brother-in-law, Terry Christie; sister, Nour; brother, Nicola; grandfather, Elias Abuzulof; and many other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins from around the world. Dearly loved as an angel on Earth, she has now joined the ranks of the angels in heaven and will forever be missed but never forgotten.
