I was very saddened to hear about Steve's passing. He was such a kind and caring gentleman. He truly wanted to better the lives of all those he touched. As I got to know him through the BNI group we were in together, he would proudly share the love he had for his wife and children as well as their accomplishments. My life is richer for having met Steve! I am praying for Blanche and your precious children, that you will be comforted and feel Our Father's peace that surpasses all understanding. .

Steve and I had a case together.... probably 35 years ago, and haven't spoken in at least 20 years. I've encountered a lot of folks since then whose names and faces I could never remember. Steve is different from those folks. He made a huge impact on me. He was a fine lawyer but more importantly, he was a fine person. You could not have found a better picture of him to display here. I will always remember that smile. His passing saddens me and I know his family is devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Jack

I remember Steve and played with him and against him on football teams at Spring Branch HS before he finished at Memorial HS his senior year.
We became good friends in those 2-3 years. He was a very good player , very competitive, & a driven person even then: a great teammate . We had a lot of laughs,
mostly at ourselves, and good times on the field and on road trips with the team. No surprise that he became a very successful attorney.
The poem "IF" by Rudyard Kipling comes to mind today as I read of Steve's passing. " And which is more , you'll be a Man, my son. "
May your memory be cherished.

I got to know Steve through our BNI group. From the first time we met one could tell how much he loved his family, his practice and helping others. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. One of my favorite memories of you was during the Suzanne Frame case when we were before Judge Hitter who was not happy with Ms. Frame. I will never forget the shocked expression on your face when the Judge ordered us to appear on a certain day and I politely asked for a reset because my family was planning to be in Disneyland on that date.

Dear Blanche and family,
Randy and I were so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. Although we weren't longtime friends, Steve was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family! I knew Steve for virtually all the years of my law practice and enjoyed seeing him at the courthouse. Steve was an earnest fighter in and out of the courtroom and when you were either working with him or opposite him that you knew you had best be prepared, as he always was. Steve was a kind, open-hearted and wise man. I always treasured our interactions. I was particularly struck by his heart for special needs kids. In my conversations with Steve, he taught me much about strategies to help the kids and their families. Steve always loved talking about Blanche, his own kids and "zoo". We enjoyed visiting at our BNI group from time to time. I will miss him very much.
