I’m so saddened to hear of his passing. I just got a notice on my Facebook page that today is his birthday. I was going to send him a happy birthday note when I saw that he had passed. He was my Theology professor at the University of St Thomas. I took all of his classes and we became very close friends. He took me under his wing while I was a student there. He kept me on the straight and narrow. He was such a wonderful priest, Professor, mentor and friend to so many. He became one of my very dear friends. I will miss him. I’m so very sorry that I missed his funeral. I would have gone if I knew. I will be praying for his soul.
Thank you Fr Kelly for being my friend and caring so much. You will never know how much your friendship meant to me. Please pray for me as I will never stop praying for you. Love and miss you my friend.

I can't believe you're gone, Fr. Kelly. I remember you fondly when you'd assist at St. Laurence some 20 or so years ago. Fr. John Weyer thought very highly of you. I also have fond memories of you being a Knight in the Fr. John Weyer council 11343. I hope y'all are having a wonderful reunion in Heaven. I enjoyed taking your class at St. Laurence on the Book of Revelation.
Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Kelly, oh Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Fr. Kelly....you were truly a kind and happy person! Always seeing the cup half full and not empty. As you would always say on a beautiful day..."What a glorious morning!" I do regret never taking your courses at UST as an undergraduate...but, I had the sincere honor and privilege of being your student worker/slave/serf for two years in UST'S Theology Dept. Going to heaven during Holy Week speaks to your "specialness" in God's eyes. Thanks for babysitting Prissy my kitten years ago when I was out of town and loving all God's little animals God sent your way. You will be missed.
