Obituary of John E. Fox

John Edward Fox, born July 30, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to James and Marie Fox, died on Monday, September 9, 2019, in Houston, Texas after battling multiple types of cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan; his children, Chris Fox, Joe and Melissa Fox, Sue Fox, Pat and Senly Fox; and grandchildren, Isabelle and Ethan Fox.  He is also survived by his siblings, Frank and Claire Fox, Mary Seal, Catherine and John Gentry, Fr. Tom Fox, OFM, and many nieces and nephews.

John was devoted to God and a dedicated servant of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council 2917.  John was also a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima parish where he served on the Men's Club, Parish Council, Respect Life Committee, and served as a Eucharistic Minister.  He supported Right to Life and Pro-Life causes serving as the Pro-Life Chairman for the K of C as well as leading the Pro-Life Rosary at St. Rose.

John graduated from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.  He liked staying busy and had many different hobbies over the years including fishing, bridge, wood-working, gardening, beading, jewelry-making and collecting.

We would like to thank the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and staff for their efficiency and kindness.

A viewing and visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2019, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., to be lead by the Knights of Columbus, Council 2917.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

All services will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, in Houston, Texas.

The Rite of Committal will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

A reception with the family will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 607 East Whitney, in Houston, Texas.
