Dear Gordon I am so sad to hear of the passing of Susan my thoughts are with you and family. I knew Susan back in secondary school days about 1964 ish, we would go to the Derby Cafe in Netherlee for a double nougat of Toni's amazing ice cream. Happy days. I worked with Susan at the English Language Institute and we had such fun. Just saw this as we lost touch when I moved away from Houston. So sorry Gordon. I know this world is a far more boring place without her.

I only met Susan a couple of times but she made a lasting impression on me. Her joie de vie and laughter were compelling. I will always remember her story about how she met Gordon on the ski slope—crashed into him on purpose I believe she said. I admire her fight against this disease and her contribution to research that will help others. My condolences to Gordon on the loss of his wonderful life companion and to their children and grandchildren.

It is so difficult to put in words how devastated we were to hear this heartbreaking news.
Susan was such a fun, warm-hearted, lovable person. She will be greatly missed!
Gordon and Susan’s fight against her illness was an endless rollercoaster: hopes and losses. Tried everything – unfortunately the wonder did not happen. Susan was very lucky to have such a fantastic support. Gordon’s unconditional love was necessary to bear the effects all of these horrible treatments. We know a little about what you went through.
We will keep Susan’s memory in our heart – all of the great time which we spent together in Houston, sailing in Galveston, going out for Old Farts meetings, having fun with friends in Spain and here in France. We will not forget!

I first met Susan in Jakarta in 1990 when Gordon was running Schlumberger's computing center. We had something in common being that we were all from Glasgow. Gordon had a boat and the rare times I was in town, I had the great pleasure of being invited by the Mowats to join them to the islands. Many years later our paths would cross again in Los Angeles and at their wonderful home in La Lavendou.
Susan was a charming Scots lady who led a wonderfully rich and interesting life. She will be remembered most for her generous nature, great sense of humor and warmth of character. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Our sincere condolences to the Mowat family.

I had the great pleasure to share good times with Susan and Gordon while working with him during early 90’s and I could say they are an example of a perfect couple. She was very kind with everyone and those are things that make people unforgettable!

I was praying for her recovery everyday... Please accept my sincere condolences.
I attach the photo we took two years ago at Cafe Borrone in Menlo Park before I gave a seminar talk at Stanford. I have fond memories of our conversation on that day.

Susan,
enjoyed a full earthly life and her love, touch and mark will be remembered by all that had the chance, even briefly, to interact with her.

I am so saddened for the loss of Susan who was a dear friend and the wife of a dear friend. May her soul rest in peace and may God be with Gordon, Fionna, Euan, and the rest of the family in these tough times. Susan was a gentle, generous and kind person.
I fondly remember the times in Ridgefield when Susan invited me to her house and treated me as family.
I will miss her sorely.
