"It was an honor to have been Jim's brother-in-law and friend for most of my life. My sister, Lillian, his spouse of 69 years, brought Jim into our family life when in the 5th grade they became childhood sweethearts. It is an honor again to have been asked to officiate at the funeral and burial for Jim on May 22nd at the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. Jim was of the breed of Americans Tom Brockaw wrote about in his book "The Greatest Generation" published in 2009. "Eternal rest granr him, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.""
