Eleanor Durney Lemon went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2015 at Houston Hospice, surrounded by love.
Born July 18, 1927 in Wilmington, Delaware and a graduate of the class of 1950 from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Eleanor retired as a 7th grade reading teacher from the Pasadena Independent School District. In her retirement she enjoyed golf, bridge, traveling, friends, and her Jackson Intermediate Bunco Babes.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Kelly and Edward Durney; husband, Robert R.; sisters, Mary Tattersall and Sr. Elizabeth Durney, C.B.S.; and brother, Edward Durney.
She is survived by her sister, Sr. Katherine Ann Durney, C.B.S.; son, R. Marty and his wife Debra Perala; daughter, Pamela Lamonico; and son, H. Daniel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St. in Memorial Park.
The Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
