Obituary of Frank John Ferro

Frank John Ferro, more commonly known by his friends and family as “John” or “Uncle Johnny,” was born November 11, 1938 in Sugar Land, Texas to John and Johanna Ferro, and died on April 9, 2020.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John and Johanna Ferro, and his brother, Charles Ferro.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Ferro; sister, Rose Denena and her husband, Leon; nieces, Diane Ferro Williams and her husband, Jim, Charlene Ferro Koon and her husband, Clay, and Leah Denena Bennett and her husband, Michael Bennett, and their children Jessica Schmedthorst, Colton Schmedthorst and Aliya Schmedthorst; great-niece, Dalene Reid and her husband, Wes Reid, and their two children, Peyton and Avery; and great-niece, Colene Horton.

Frank was a very devoted resident of the City of Stafford and active member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Up until his death he continued to help organize the St. Joseph altar.

The past 40 years, Frank had been a realtor in Fort Bend and surrounding counties.  Prior to that he was a truck driver for the Imperial Sugar Company.

Frank was on the Fort Bend WCID #2 water board form 1979-2020, serving many roles including Secretary, Vice President, Director, and President.  He was also a member of the Stafford Historical Society and Stafford Education Foundation.  The Stafford Education Foundation recently name a scholarship in his honor for 2020.  Frank supported the Stafford Athletic Department at the Stafford School and loved going to the football games.  He was also an advocate for BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Houston (which is located in Stafford) and was involved with TIRZ of Missouri City.

Frank also believed in traditions.  He liked to dance and eat Italian food and sweets.  He loved to get together for the holidays.  He would always call his friends and family just to say hello and make sure everyone was ok.  He was loved by many and will be missed.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., with a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 Fifth Street in Missouri City, Texas.  The Rite of Committal will follow at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
