Obituary of Steven Donald Roberts

Please share a memory of Steven to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Steven Donald Roberts was born on August 22, 1953, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Donald N. and Nancy (Scardino) Roberts. He attended Pocatello High School and Idaho State University. Steve was a loving person, and he often kept to himself. He adored his family members.

From the time he was in junior high to the day he died, Steve loved taking things apart and putting them back together – washing machines, cars, TVs, even his electric razor. Growing up in Idaho, Steve also developed a passion for walking outdoors and camping. He may be the only person we’ve ever known to build an icosidodecahedron gazebo. He also loved playing chess and teaching his love of the game to others.

Family members remember enjoying listening to opera, stories about his time working “tech” in theater, and watching sports with Steve. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his brother, James Roberts (Jim), his cousins JoAnn Iverson, Tony Scardino, David and Nancy Scardino, Teresa Scardino and Robert Leduc, Matthew Scardino and Ami VanDeventer, and niece Nicole Pope and her family and nephew Putnam Roberts and his family.
