I am so saddened to hear this news. I am really at a loss for words even though I have not seen Cherie in yeaaaars. I remember her as a great person who was always nice while we attended school together.
To her family....may you accept my condolences and may God heal your pain.
Cherie may you rest in peace as you will be missed by all of your friends and family.

My friend, I tried to get back to you numerous times after you called, I am not sure what else I could do to connect with you. I regret that the connection didn't happen. If it had, I would have shared many memories I have of you and others during the FBCSH years and I would have listened to you catch me up on your life and family, and we could have thanked God together for the blessings He has given us. May the Lord grant you rest and peace in His presence, and may He guard the hearts of all those who love you and will miss you.

If not for Cherie and Matt, I don't know where I'd be.
I moved across the street from the Elkins, in June of 2014. We became friends. Cherie and I would go on walks around the neighborhood. We all drink coffee in the morning, way more than once. It was cool hanging out with her. Always there to give a helping hand. A nice person.
Towards the end of November 2015, I came home and found a strange guy in the house with my wife. The cops were there that night and the next day. My now ex-wife drove away with the car we shared. It took a week, give or take, for me to pack what was mine, and move out. The Elkins was such a huge help. Cherie helped me pack. I was glad we all went out and ate before I left. That part was nice.
I still plan on visiting Katy again, one day. In my mind, I had already planned on visiting Cherie and Matt again. I still will visit. Matt and I are 'brothers from another mother'...I'll miss not seeing Cherie.
Sorry I am not able to attend the funeral. I am there in spirit. Condolences to Matt and his family. Hopefully, now Cherie's soul is at rest.

I would like to tell Matt and Cheries family what a wonderful, sweet person Cherie was! We were friends for many years! Just last year I helped her thru a kidney infection! We talked every night and I told her to drink lots of water and cranberry juice! She was so appreciative! I miss her very much!!

I remember Cherie had one of the sweetest, most beautiful voices and personalities I had ever met.
She always had a smile on her face when I would see her and always a kind word to share.
She will be missed terribly by so many of her former classmates.
Fly high our beautiful angel for you have now earned your wings.
RIP

Cherie was one of my oldest and dearest friends that I have known since the 2nd grade, and we remained friends throughout the years. I remember spending the night at each other's house when we were in elementary school, and then riding the bus together and being in choir together in junior high, and then giving her rides to school in high school after I got a car!! We kept in touch as much as possible after high school, although life often took us in different directions and there were times when we fell out of touch...but we always managed to reconnect at some point, and our friendship was one that stood the test of time!! I will always cherish my memories of Cherie and our friendship, and while I am heartbroken over the loss of my dear friend, I rejoice in the knowledge that she is now resting peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Lord Jesus, and that I will see her sweet face again one day in Glory!!!
