My condolences to the the family and friends of Gary.
We attended the University of Houston, College of Architecture together.
We had many great adventures, especially that 1973 era Spring Break 8 day bus trip to view great architectural wonders at the campuses of Yale, Harvard, MIT, cities of Boston, New Haven and Philadelphia. And, then the stunning Frank Lloyd Wright designed House Over Falling Water.
Gary was always one of my favorites from those days. I really need to dig up some of those old College photos.
Regret we lost contact over the years. Glad to see Gary made the best of his life, with family, friends and service to the Catholic Church.

We will dearly miss Deacon Gary but will always have fond memories of him. Deacon Gary was on the alter when both Gabriella and Enzo served their first mass (as well as my first time as a lector and Megan as a Sacristan), and was very kind to them as they grew up at All Saints. We will always remember his warmth and humor before Mass and during many functions at church. He will be in our hearts and prayers always.

This is our sophomore class at Holy Redeemer Minor Seminary. Gary is on the second row, second from the right. On his right is Rev. Kevin Flaherty, A Jesuit priest in Peru. Behind Gary over his left shoulder is Re. Ed Grice, a pastor of a church in Slidell, LA. I am on the front row 3rd from the left and next to me with the candy apple is Fred Lopez.

I attended a minor seminary in Louisiana for four years with Gary called Holy Redeemer College. Gary was well respected by all his classmates and he had a great sense of humor. I forget how many of us there were as Freshman there, but we ended with a graduating class of eight. After our graduation over 50 years ago we had several reunions where I saw Gary again. Our last reunion was about 3 years ago when we had a tour of our old high school that is now a Fish and Game Research Institute in Lacombe, Louisiana.
My wife of 21 years passed away 8 years ago. It is quite an initiation to have your spouse pass away. Many blessings to you Ann and family. I visited the Trappist monk Thomas Keating about 2 months after my wife died and was telling him how strange it is to have a person you have loved for many years "disappear". He told me that I need to develop a different kind of relationship with her. After my wife Velma passed away I went to texas for 6 years to take care of my parents in their final years. They are gone now and I have returned to Arizona to start my life over again at age 69. These will be my final years and I hope I will be blessed with at least 90 years that were granted to my parents. I have a new spouse who was a physician in China. We are starting a Medical Clinic together near Tucson.
God Bless Gary and I hope his passing from the physical world will help his family draw closer to his spiritual essence.

Ann, Michael and Emily, and sister Linda.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. Gary is a very close friend of ours since our class and we have been praying for him for quite a long time. Now our prayers go out to you and your family.
Gary touched a lot of hearts in our early formation when he donated one of his kidneys and his generosity lived on as he took care of us old retired deacons and priest.
Peace be with you Ann.

He was a fabulous boss to work for and his kindness and patience with the retired clergy, particularly as their new home was being built was nothing short of miraculous! I’m sure it earned him a pass to skip purgatory! May his family find comfort in the memories and may God bless you all!
