Ida Elizabeth "Betty" Priddy Mallay died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 98 years on February 18, 2021 in Houston, Texas, her home of almost 60 years.

Born August 1, 1922  in Brundage, Texas as the third child of Arthur and Vivian Priddy, Betty married Myron Mallay of San Antonio, Texas in 1943.

She mothered four children: Wally, Betty Carol, JB, and Michael, and continued to be a devoted mother to them after her husband's death in 1973.

As a young girl she resided in Big Wells, Texas. Betty attended Howard Payne College and graduated from SWTSC in San Marcos, Texas.  She was a devoted member of St. John Vianney Catholic church, where she was instrumental in establishing and leading the Singles group for over 25 years. 

Betty was an accomplished artist and musician and a beloved member of the Willy Wang Art School for over 30 years.  Her joyful, pioneering spirit, love of life and her dedication to her 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild was an inspiration to her family and friends.

Having lived such a fulfilling life, her family now takes comfort that her spirt is now completely fulfilled in the presence of the Lord , because of her faith in Jesus.

She is survived by her children: Wally Mallay, JB and his wife, Ellen Mallay, Michael Mallay; grandchildren, Rachel Aden and her daughter, Rebecca Aden and Christine Morello and son, Charlie; Matthew Mallay and his wife, Meg, and son Max; Miles Brandon and his wife, Ashley, and daughters, Amelia and Mary Ellen of Austin; Ross Brandon and his wife, Whitney, daughter, Kirby, and son, Wiley of Dripping Springs; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to be officiated by The Rev. Miles Brandon of St. Julian's of Norwich in Austin, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., March 6, 2021 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas.
