Lillian Marie (Healy) Klein died on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James Klein. She is survived by her children James Klein, Paul Klein, and Allison (Klein) Davidson; her daughter-in-law Danelle Klein; her sons-in-law Clint Davidson and David Fisher; her grandchildren and their spouses Peter Klein (Darcy Douglas), Christianne Klein-Hechler (Chris Hechler), Max Fisher, and Anna Mabarak; her great-grandchildren Ryan and Marley Hechler; brother Rev. Paul Pfadenhauer and his life partner William Sibberns; sister Sue McCloskey, and nieces and nephews Sue, Karen, Edward, and Timothy. Lillian was born in New York City on October 12, 1923 to Susan (Wilcox) Healy and Lawrence Healy. She was the proud big sister of Paul and Sue. She married James Stanley Klein on June 15, 1946, and they raised a family on Long Island before relocating to Houston in 1974. Our mother had a tremendous wit. She was a fierce bridge player, and left few opponents standing on the Scrabble board. The New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle was always completed in ink. She was a talented craftswoman, her meticulous needle work adorning her beautifully kept home. She was a fantastic cook and loved to entertain. She made the best cheese cake in the world. Lillian never sat still. She volunteered with the Houston Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary for decades, traveled the world with Jim, and doted on her grand children. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at The Heights of North Houston who cared for our mother. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m, Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the chapel at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas.
