Obituary of Carole Deane Christensen
Carole Deane Christensen, born on May 19, 1942 in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021, in Tomball, Texas.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Christensen Sr.; mother, Deane Hlavaty; and father, Henry (Hank) Hlavaty. She is survived by her son, John R. Christensen, Jr. and his wife, Becky; daughter, Cindy Ann Calame and her husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Luke Christensen and his wife, Kayla, Nathan Christensen, Jane Wild, Christian Calame and his wife, Kailee, and Starly Calame; great-grandchildren, Keller, Micah, Cainen and Maxx Wild. In addition, she was survived by her sister, Sonja Novo and her husband, Charles.
Carole was a 1960 graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School. She married John Christensen on October 20, 1962 in Houston, Texas. She worked at Southwestern Bell for many years.
Carole came to know her Lord, Jesus Christ, in October of 1973.
She loved spreading cheer, especially during the holidays. One of her favorite things was dressing up as Santa Kringle and passing out candy canes wherever she went. She also loved playing card games, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing trivia, and visiting with friends and family. She had a sense of humor that somehow always made you smile.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway in Houston, Texas.
