Janie Grizzaffi San Felipe, having lived a life full of love and kindness, passed away peacefully at the age 100. She was a longtime beautician of over 72 years in the West End of Houston, TX.

Janie was the oldest child born to John and Lena Grizzaffi on February 8th, 1921 in Houston, Texas. In her younger years she met the love of her life Joe San Felipe.  They meant the world to each other and forged a loving family with many accomplishments together.  They were inseparable until Joe passed in 1984.  She was the matriarch of the family, she was the most loving, caring, charitable person anyone could ever met.  She was beautiful inside and out, witty, kind, meticulous, and took great pride in all that she attempted along with many others.  Her hobbies included being a talented amateur artist, cooking many Italian - Sicilian meals, was great at lending an ear or telling you stories while she “set hair” at her beauty shop.  She would not let a stray or domestic animal miss a meal. In her retirement years, she was baker of the delicious homemade brownies at Tail Gate Grill, she enjoyed traveling to Casinos with the Knights of Columbus, and her weekly bingo fun at Triple Crown Bingo. She was a devout Catholic, attending Mass regularly at St. Theresa Church for many years. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.

Throughout her lifetime, she was always available to anyone in need. Her greatest joy was a visit or conversation with family and friends.

Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Joe San Felipe, her parents, John and Lena Grizzaffi Sr., her sister, Pauline Bowen and husband Mike Bowen, and brothers, Luke Grizzaffi, John Grizzaffi Jr. and wife Lucille and brother-in law Andy P. Wooten, Sr.
