I and my family loved Gordon. He was the best neighbor! A memory I have of him was the day my daughter and I went to visit him in Huntsville. He was one of the kindest person I’ve known.

Dear Fr. Leo & Sr. Helen, Bill & I are so sorry neither of you were able to visit with your dear Brother one more time. Gordon loved his trips to visit each of you. When Gordon unknowingly let Bill help him decide to buy the Shrine of Two Hearts, Bill was so grateful to Our Blessed Mother & Jesus for answering OUR prayers. How did Bill help Gordon decide? He promised him he would take care of/maintain the almost 20 acres of land/trees/pipes/buildings but mostly acreage of grass/weeds etc. as long as the Lord allowed him to do so. Believe me, God knee it was getting to the end for Bill, the weather was hurting him bad.The Shrine was a Labor of Love for Bill! Fr. Leo saw that. We loved & admired Gordon. We didn’t always agree with him, he being a “City” boy & Bill being a”Country” boy but we were there to help him take care of the Shrine for others to come and enjoy & spend time with the Two Hearts. Bill & I believe your Brother will not be in Purgatory long, if at all, because of the mental, spiritual & physical anguish he often experienced at the Peaceful Shrine as well as the years when Gloria was so sick & her death. We hope the many Masses & Prayers that have been said for Gordon over the years & especially the ones we & others said the day before he passed on & the day of, helped the Purgatory time. Gordon was always very appreciative when anyone did something for him and quite generous with some in need, especially if they were regulars at the Shrine. Oh, something you may not know about Gordon was how he used to come out in front of the Planned Parenthood Clinic to pray the Rosary every week with 12-15 of us For the End of Abortion & Pro-LIFE! He donated thousand’s helping Cecilia keep the PRO-LIFE Billboard up & paid for on a main Interstate in Houston, TEXAS.. Gordon was a good man, a Spiritual Model and a faithful Servant to the bitter end.
Thank you Gordon for your Prayers & Masses for us & the good Cracker Barrel & Denny’s Breakfasts on our way home from those dreadful eye appointments.
And I again thank you for your Love & Devotion of the Divine Mercy Devotion & to St. Faustina, and presenting her 1st Class Relic in the beautiful Reliquary to our St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Huntsville, TX. I better quit I’ve already lost half of what I typed (I don’t know how I did it, but it’s gone & I don’t know what I was rambling on about). Several of the Morning Mass/Coffee Drinkers that you used to join on occasion & they would join us at the Shrine for 1st Saturday Masses & Devotions & Potluck, used to ask about you & pray for you after you moved. Thank you too Gordon for taking me along on that Loooong trip to & from Thailand. I daw first-hand how greatly admired & honored you were & are in Thailand. GOD BLESS YOU, LOVE YOU, PROTECT YOU, & GUIDE YOU Sr. Helen & Fr. Leo.
Gordon, please pray for us here on Earth!
Diana we are so glad God & Mother Mary crossed our paths at the Shrine. Thank you for the way you took care of Gordon when no one else could be with him st that time. God bless all relatives & friends who walked in & through Gordon’s life.
