Obituary of Charles Walston Harrison, Jr.

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles Walston Harrison, Jr., born July 21, 1920 in Dallas, Texas died at age 101 at Ella Springs Assisted Living on August 23, 2021 in Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn Ringer Harrison; and son, Charlie W. Harrison.

He is survived by his son, Mark Ringer Harrison, daughter in law, Jane Marrack Harrison, Grandchildren Rachel Lynn Harrison Dean and Stephan Michael Harrison.

Charles went to school at Georgia Tech where he earned a degree in engineering.  After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant.  After he left the Army, he married Marilyn in 1947, shortly before moving to Houston.

Charles went to school at University of Houston and earned his Masters in Business Administration. He then worked at Dresser Industries, Joe Stein, Koomey and National Lead, to name a few, as well as several oil companies.  He was always very busy.

Charles loved teaching computer classes at the local rec center. He loved photography, and his grandkids. He had a wacky sense of humor which he passed on to the grandkids, calling them "snake bait" or being called "roach bait.” Charles was a wonderful loving person, who we will miss a lot.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood in Houston, Texas.  The burial will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., where he will join his beloved, Marilyn, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
