Obituary of Linda Ruth Ebeling
Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Ebeling, born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, peacefully passed away August 27, 2021 in Houston, Texas following a coronary episode. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Ruth Ebeling, and brother Peter, Jr.
Linda was attractive, gregarious, often opinionated and outspoken, and ardently independent. Linda was an avid sports fan, especially for the Houston Texans. She worked as an independent landman, negotiating mineral rights with rural residents of Texas. She was very attached to her cousins and acted as a doting aunt to their children. These children often looked to her as a cool contemporary and not an older cousin.
She was deeply religious, and proud of her Catholic faith. She had been a member of the Catholic Chaplain Corps, serving at St. Luke’s Hospital and then at Houston Methodist Hospital. She was a Dame Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, an Associate of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and an usher at St. Michael the Archangel Church.
A Funeral Mass honoring the life of Linda will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 in Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sisters of Divine Providence, 515 SW 24 Street, San Antonio, Texas 78207 or the Sisters of the Marianites of the Holy Cross, 21388 Smith Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435 would be appreciated.
