Obituary of Angelika Magdalena Bremer

Please share a memory of Angelika to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our daughter, sister, and mother, Angelika, passed away on August 31, 2021 in Houston, TX, her longtime home. Angelika was preceded in death by her father, Hans Schweibenz. She is survived by her mother, Irene Schweibenz; her brother H. Matt Schweibenz; and her children Malcolm Harry Bremer Jr., Camille Margaret Bremer Faraji, Angelika “Maggie” Magdalena Bremer Clark, and Nikolai Louis Bremer.

Born in Schaumburg, IL on June 1, 1959, she was the daughter of hard-working,German immigrants. She was a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she put herself through school waiting tables, and then went on to earn her MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.

She moved to Houston, TX to begin her career in banking at First City National Bank of Houston, where she met many wonderful friends and her lifelong mentor. She eventually was promoted to Vice President, before getting married in 1989 and leaving her career to start a family. She raised four successful, bright, independent children, of whom she was abundantly proud, and all are college graduates that are pursuing their dreams.

In addition to raising a family, she had many ambitions and pursuits. She was a very talented home decorator with an eye for design, flipping homes in both Aspen, CO and Galveston, TX. In addition, she often would share her dreams of continuing her learning in law and professional cooking. Her kids will miss her talents in the kitchen, and will fondly remember her surrounded by her impressive cookbook collection.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas.

Donations in her honor can be made to Santa Maria Hostel, a women and family-focused nonprofit serving the Houston community in addiction recovery and prevention programs. (https://santamariahostel.ejoinme.org/MyPages/DonationPageSantaMariaHostel/tabid/112156/Default.aspx
