Obituary of Louise Underwood

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louise Underwood was born to the late Alford Sears and Gussie Lee Wilson on May 20, 1948 in Galveston, Texas. She departed this earthly life on October 2, 2021. Louise attended Reagan High School and later obtained her G.E.D. She was married to her late husband Ishmael Underwood for 19 years. She retired from Customer service at Hyatt Regency Houston and then worked in claims for several years before retiring. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ in her twenties and later became a faithful member at God's Word of Deliverance Apostolic Faith Church in Houston, Texas. She served in the Choir, Pastoral Care, and in the Ministry of Helps. She not only gave financially but she gave of her time and of herself. The things that gave her joy were family, friends and helping others. Shopping and decorating brightened her day. She had a great sense of humor.

Louise was preceded in death by her late husband, Ishmael Underwood; her father, Alford Sears Sr., her mother, Gussie Lee Wilson; brother, Alford Sears Jr. and sister, Florine Harvey.

Louise leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Supricia (Thomas) Foley of Wildwood, FL and Galatha (George) Nelson of Houston, TX: Sons: Michael Ivory of Houston, TX; Verdane (Valencia) Ivory of Prince George, VA and Ishmael (Shakina) Underwood II of Houston, TX. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; Siblings: Jo Ethel Barnes, Ollie Mae Milson, and Odale (Jimmy) Jimmy Butler of Houston, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
