Obituary of Shirrell J. Vivona

Shirrell J. Vivona, born May 18, 1942, passed away on December 11, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband, Morris A. Vivona; her three children, Anthony S. Vivona of Crestview, Florida and his wife, Vicky, Maria Vivona Varesic of Pearland, Texas and her husband Tony, and John B. Vivona of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Trinity Vivona, Matthew Varesic, and Jacob Varesic.
Shirrell grew up in California, New Jersey and many other states. She attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia. She also served on city council in Howell, New Jersey.
She spent the last forty years in The Woodlands raising her children and later celebrating the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She worked in banking for more than 30 years, with 10 of those years at Independent Bank in Houston, Texas.
Shirrell loved animals, especially her golden retrievers and her grand-dogs. She also loved reading, discussing genealogy with her grand-daughter, doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, knitting, sewing and needlepointing. As an avid baseball fan, she loved to watch the Houston Astros and her grandsons’ little league games.
A visitation with the family will be begin at 5:00 p.m., with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, in The Woodlands, Texas.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 also at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands.
