Obituary of Evelyn Ann Rimoldi

Evelyn Ann Rimoldi, born August 27, 1937 in San Diego, California to William Joseph Dowd and Helen Cremer Dowd, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas.

 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister Willa May Schaniel and her grandson Matthew Joseph Rimoldi. 

She is survived by her five children: Peter Michael Rimoldi and his wife, Jill, of Marblehead, Ohio, Pamela Lynn Ferguson and her husband. David, of Austin, Texas, Angela Marie Salstrom and her husband, Chip, of Newbury Park, California, Anthony Joseph Rimoldi of Conroe, Texas, and Paula Ann Rimoldi of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren: Evan Rimoldi, Christopher Rimoldi and his wife, Angela, Abby Haynie and her husband, Michael, Cameron Ferguson and his wife Sarah Innerarity, Ben Ferguson, Sophia and Nicholas Salstrom, Julia and T.J. Rimoldi; and great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Hazel Haynie and Kemper Ferguson; her sister, Margaret O’Hara; and brother, Denis Dowd, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

 

Evelyn graduated from Hoover High School in 1955 and attended college at San Diego State University where she was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.  After leaving California in 1972, she pursued a career in real estate working with Keller-Williams Realty and Prudential Gary Greene of The Woodlands. 

 

Evelyn was a gifted seamstress and created many beautiful things throughout the years including designing and making Angie’s wedding gown and Jill’s bridesmaids’ dresses.  She loved spending time in her garden and getting lost in a good book whenever she had the chance.  She spent many happy years enjoying travel with her parents, children and grandchildren as well as attending her monthly book club and joining her dear friends at their weekly lunch bunch group. 

 

Evelyn was known for her humble and quiet spirit, her kindness and generosity, and her amazing example of mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

 

A Vigil for the Deceased will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a recitation of the Holy Rosary, on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive in The Woodlands, Texas.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 also at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
