Was unaware of Ted’s death. Many connections with wonderful kind learned man. Deeply miss him his cowboy hat and his proud Robert Burns poems. Sorry particularly he sees the BB Texas underway only from heaven.

Dear Susan, please accept our sincere condolences on your loss of Ted. I was sorry to have missed his funeral but I had a 7 year old grandson's birthday to attend in Austin that day. It was a real pleasure to know Ted over the years, as when hunting with Kleber Denny in South Texas and when Ted asked me a couple of times to his property near Houston to shoot doves (we weren't lucky in this regard but any hunting is a worthwhile endeavor!). And, needless to say, it was a distinct priviledge to have you both as patients over the years.
My very best regards at this difficult time, Bill and Beth Banks

I remember Ted as the last man who pitched his tent at ranchers ride and the last man who would sleep in a tent. This allowed Susan to visit me just down the road.
My sympathy goes out to Susan and family who lost earthly contact with a very unique man. May they gather to gather again in the sweet bye and bye. Rest In Peace Ted.

Sweet Ted, who I called Sugar Booger, would ride up to me on either Salt Grass or Rancher’s Ride, and start singing opera to me! He had a great voice, knew I loved opera (because we had run into each other there once), & I always treasured that unsolicited visit from him! I’ll miss him terribly!

What a privilege it was for me to share Ted and Susan's life as I did for so many grand years as their pastor, priest, and friend! Especially do I remember so fondly our pilgrimage to the Holy Land and all that we enjoyed biblically, historically, and spiritually together. The Lords' blessings to Susan and family as we all go forward in Him.

Ted will be forever missed by his Salt Grass Trail Ride Wagon 6 family. We will miss his fireside recitations In that deep voice of his of Robert Burns poetry or just randomly breaking out in song on the trail to anyone who would listen. One year on trail ride on a freezing cold and rainy day, Ted, older than all.of us, was the only one from our Wagon to brave the weather to ride that day. We will ride together again, dear Ted. Until then, rest in peace.

Ted was the first downtown lawyer who gave me a chance. In 1981, he hired me as a litigator in a time when women did not litigate (and against his partner's wishes) and then he encouraged me to succeed. I am eternally grateful for that launch. May he rest in peace knowing he made Texas better.

Susan;
Joe and I send our deepest condolences to you. Your husband Ted will always be remembered as a Harvard man and the man with the hat at Houston Grand Opera. I can still hear his voice ”cheering on his team” at the Harvard Yale games in Houston.
we send you hugs and love.
