Lamarr was a generous, soft hearted, hard working, humorous guy… we had not seen him since he had gotten sick. We did get to talk to him and Sharon one day and it was a gift. I’m pretty sure he knew who we were. We have some great memories of Lamarr. He loved to cook and loved to eat too! He always ordered two entrees and made friends with his favorite waiters at neighborhood restaurants. Back when he still liked to watch the Cowboys we would get together at his apartment or our house to watch the game and of course barbecue or eat some great meal he had made. We make and love some of his recipes still today. (Some I could not eat then or now! Too many chili petins-sp?) his favorite work lunch was cream cheese and SPAM! He helped us by letting jerry stay with him once for a few weeks when Jerry was starting a new job and I was in New Braunfels still selling our house. Lamarr totally loved waking Jerry up about 4:30am every day… he would laugh about it… I know he is in heaven - healthy, young and making someone laugh right now!! Our love to Michelle, Sharon, Matthew and Rachel. He loved you all so much!

I remember when my son, Matthew, came home from the Marines and we had a big party in the backyard and invited Lamarr and Sharon. She was out of town, but encouraged Lamarr to go. He showed up at the door, with his little cooler bag, full of his favorite beer, and he sat and watched the young people with a big smile on his face. He was just happy to be included. I’ll always remember his genuine smile.
