Obituary of Decie Ann Atchison

Decie Ann ‘Sue’ Armer Atchison, born April 11, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Decie and Harry Armer, died peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Houston, Texas.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Thomas John Atchison, parents Decie Perry Armer and Harry Richard Armer, and brother Harry Richard Armer, Jr.

She is survived by daughters Trudie Atchison; Decie Atchison Cornelius and her husband Roger; Tammy Atchison and Granddog JaggerBelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was a native Houstonian and attended St. Mary’s Grade School, St. Agnes High School, and the University of St. Thomas.

She was married to her High School sweetheart and love of her life, for 62 years and they were blessed with three daughters.  Sue’s family was her greatest joy and they loved her immensely. 

She had many lifelong friends but Mary Ann, Katy, and Antoinette shared an unparalleled love for each other since grade school. Our mother was an Angel on earth and her beautiful smile would light up the room and brighten your day.  You only had to meet her once to know how special she was.  Now she is an Angel in Heaven.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection celebration at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Drive in Houston, Texas.
