Obituary of Alice Pearl Markowski

Alice Pearl Markowski, born July 28, 1934 in Bedias, Texas to Joe and Stella Borski, passed away on May 5, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, Cleo Markowski, who died in April 1985; her second husband, Albert Heinrich, who died in October 2016; as well as four siblings.
She is survived by son John Markowski, and his wife, Diana; son, Randy Markowski and his wife, Peggy; son, Carl Markowski and his wife, Judy; daughter, Cherie Ruffino and her husband, Louie; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, with a sixth great-grandchild arriving in June.
Alice was a selfless servant of her family and our God. She was known by everyone to be gracious, caring, humble, and resilient. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and living her Catholic faith. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren, who will remember her patient example, sly humor, and unwavering love.
A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman Street in Houston, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Rose of Lima. Following the Mass, a lunch and reception will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., in the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall. The Rite of Committal will be at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Alice’s ten grandchildren.
