Obituary of Jimmy Gusman Talamantes

Born February 15, 1947 in Missouri City, Texas to Dario and Dominga Talamantes, died Sunday September 11, 2022 in Houston Texas.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Oralia, and brothers Dario Jr., Sam, and Joe Talamantes.  

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia, his three children Marco Talamantes, Laura Peckham, and Raquel Talamantes Buxton and their children, Rena, Marissa, Marco Jr., Sela, Isabella, Alexander, and Jimmy. In addition, he had 2 great grandchildren A.J. and Sophia. 

Surviving sisters and brothers: Rosa Padilla, Josie Morris, Juana Juarez, Mary Arriazola, Lilian Ortiz, Frances Tilton, and Pauline Talamantes, and two brothers, David and Johnny Talamantes.

Pall Bearers: Marco Talamantes, Marco Talamantes Jr. Alexander Peckham, Matthew Buxton, Johnny Talamantes, Jr., Alfred Juarez, Jr., Greg Bolanos, Frankie Careta. Honorary bearers: Drew Talamantes and Jimmy Buxton. 

A visitation and recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6 pm, Monday September 19, 2022, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell st., Houston, Texas 77007.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell st., Houston, Texas 77007.

Rite of Committal will follow at 11:45 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, Texas.

Special thanks goes out to the wonderful ICU care team at the Methodist Hospital and the physicians from the Department of Surgery/Transplant, who cared for Jimmy in his final days.
