Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patricia Leslie, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in Houston, Texas.

Patti was born in Yonkers, NY on the 25th of February, 1947 to William and Helen Neagle. At an early age, her family moved to Birmingham, MI.  Following high school, Patti enrolled at and graduated from the University of Detroit, an extraordinary Jesuit institution.  Patti’s employment history began in the HR department of the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, followed by the Borg & Beck division of the Borg Warner Corp.

Fred and Patti met on a blind date, and 3 dates later, Fred popped the question. On October 20th, 1973, they were married at St. Hugo of the Hills church in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The newlyweds were soon transferred to Cleveland, OH with Fred’s job, where Patti joined the HR department of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation until they welcomed their first child, Elizabeth. Daughter Jennifer was born after another transfer to Chicago, IL. One final transfer took them to Fairfield, CT, where the family finally set down long-term roots.

For many years, Patti was a stay-at-home wife and mother, spending her time taking on all of the ins-and-outs of raising children and running a tight ship at home. She made a mean French onion soup and a pretty solid apple pie. After joining the Black Rock Yacht Club, Patti became an avid tennis player. She managed the Junior Activities program for several years, as well as chaired the Food & Beverage committee. Patti also worked to keep the books in order and the appointments scheduled for a local dentist and oral surgeon’s office for many years.

In 2005, Patti & Fred retired to the sunny shores of Charleston, SC, where Patti took charge of designing and decorating their new home. In this new chapter, Patti enjoyed many new pastimes, especially gardening, working at the Charleston Wine and Food Festival, and spending time with new friends found at the Charleston Yacht Club. Ultimately, the desire to be closer to family prompted Patti and Fred to move to Houston, TX in late 2021.

Patti is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years, Fred, daughters Elizabeth (husband Cory) Clechenko and Jennifer (husband Benjamin) Renteria, granddaughters Lillian, Helen and Vivien, and sister Lynn (husband Reinhart) Hasselbring. Patti is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Patti is preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Neagle.

The family wishes to thank Patti’s caregivers at the Village of River Oaks for their compassion and kindness over the past few months.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Patti’s life is being planned.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in her name be directed to her friends’ favorite charities.
