Obituary of Margaret O'Malley Cochran

Margaret O’Malley Cochran, born in Evanston, Illinois on December 21, 1927, died peacefully on Sunday, Octover 9, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
Margaret grew up in Austin, Minnesota, attended Columbus Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1945. She attended the College of St. Teresa and graduated from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota, in elementary education.
She began her career as an elementary school teacher in 1949. That same year, Margaret moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she met her beloved husband, Harold Cochran. They were married in the Corpus Christi Cathedral on June 3, 1952.
Harold was transferred to Dallas, Texas a few months later with Atlantic Refining Company, where they began their married life together. Harold and Margaret had four children; Kevin (now deceased), Anne Cochran Marceau, Steve Cochran, and Mark Cochran.
Margaret enjoyed raising her family and doing family activities. When her youngest son, Mark, was five years old, she went back to teaching school. When she was 74 years old, Margaret retired from St. Edwards School in Spring, Texas. All together, Margaret taught for 34 years, with 20 of those years with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
She is survived by her children Anne Cochran Marceau of Dallas, Texas, Steve Cochran of Houston, Texas, Mark Cochran and his wife, Nancy, of Houston, Texas; and grandchildren, Daniel Marceau, Elizabeth Marceau, John Marceau and Tom Marceau; and three great-grandchildren all from Dallas, Texas.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at St. Ignatius of Loyola, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, in Spring, Texas.
