Oh my dear sweet Lori. I am so deeply saddened to know you are no longer on this Earth. You were my roommate for one fun filled year at Jester Center at the University of Texas when you were a freshman and I was a sophomore. We had so much fun together and I was amazed at first by your incredible beauty, and then at the power of your intelligence and your academic abilities. They were many and varied and you excelled in everything that captured your interest. We were also roommates for one year after college graduation in a run down duplex near west Campus. Then you were starting your interests in writing, in philosophy and in architecture. You were an incredibly talented writer. You were a fascinating, joyful, supremely smart, humorous, and a very loving person, but most of all, you were so kind and compassionate. Your love for your family and for your faith was so deep and apparent and you spoke about your brothers and their wives so many times that I almost felt I knew them, though I never met them. You were such a loving daughter to your father and mother and I was always so impressed by the closeness and affection that the Doody family had for one another. I remember being at your parents' condo in Galveston trying to stay awake for Haley's comet. You had a telescope and saw it all. I fell asleep! You came to New York City to see me in my 6h floor walk up apartment and when I came home from work one day you had cleaned my entire apartment! I was so amazed! I also took the Foreign Service Exam and did not pass. I was not at all surprised that you passed the exam! I will never forget you Lori and will hold you close in my memories and in my heart. Even though we lost touch for many years, I always remembered you. You were an amazing person that I was so privileged to know and spend time with, and I know you are up in Heaven now with God's light shining all around you. I extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all your family and friends. You will be so deeply missed by all who knew you.
