Entro a la Congragación de las Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa el 5 de enero de 1953 a la edad de 16 años.

 

Tomo Habito el 8 de noviembre de 1953 en la Ciudad de México,

Emitió sus primeros votos el 10 de noviembre de 1955 en la Ciudad de México

Votos perpetuos el 8 de diciembre de 1960 en Perú, Illinois.   

Inicio su apostolado trabajando en los siguientes Seminarios:

  • Santa María de Houston, TX
  • Kenrick Seminary; San Louis, MO
  • St. Bede Academy, Peru Illinois
  • St. Francis Pastoral Center, Oklahoma City, OK
  • Mt. Carmel House of Prayer, Houston, TX
  • Comunidad de San José, Houston, TX

Cualidades de la Hna. Julita: era paciente, generosa, prudente, tranquila, callada, obediente, puntual, amistosa, humilde, fervorosa y recta.  Ella solía compartir lo que ella sabia con las demás, fue muy caritativa y siempre fue agradecida.  Decía y hablaba de modo de no lastimar a las demás.  Ella apreciaba mucho a los seminaristas y sacerdotes.

Her parents were: Antonio Bravo & Francisca Diosdado

She entered the Congregation of the Missionary Carmelites of St. Teresa on January 5th, 1953 at the age of 16.  She entered the Novitiate on November 8th, 1953 in Mexico City, and made her first vows on the 10th of November 1955 and Final Vows on December 8th, 1960 in Peru, Illinois.

She began her apostolate working in different Seminaries across the United States:

  • St. Mary’s Seminary, Houston, TX
  • Kenrick Seminary, St. Louis, Mo
  • St. Bed Academy, Peru, Ill
  • St. Francis Pastoral Center, Oklahoma City, Ok
  • Mt. Carmen House of Prayer, Houston, TX
  • St. Joseph community, Houston, TX

Sr. Julita was patient, generous, prudent, calm, quiet, punctual, friendly, humble and fervent.  She was always sharing her knowledge with others, was very caring and gracious.  She always spoke in a manner as to not offend anyone.  She also appreciated and prayed for the seminarians and priests.

Sister Maria Bravo passed away on Thursday October 27, 2022.  

May she rest in peace.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Missionary Carmelites of St. Teresa, 9548 Deer Trail Dr., Houston, Texas 77038. The Rite of Committal will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston Texas.
