Obituary of Jonathan Michael McCarter

Jonathan Michael McCarter died on October 27, 2022, in Houston. Jon was born January 6, 1968, to John and Julie (Moffett) McCarter and grew up in Brecksville, Ohio.

 

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bowling Green University, his mother’s alma mater, in 1991 and received his CPA in 1994.  Jon pursued a career in accounting and transaction advisory at several firms, including Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst & Young and Houlihan Lokey, initially working in Cleveland before moving to Houston. He enjoyed his work tremendously and derived great satisfaction from helping his clients.

 

Jon married his wife, Kathleen Ann Kilgore, on November 23, 2002.

 

Jon was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports.  Although Jon and Kathy lived in Houston for 20 years and were Texans season ticket holders, Jon remained a life-long fan of Ohio State football and his hometown Cleveland sports teams.

 

Jon is survived by his wife, Kathy, his sister Judy Modica and her husband Joe of White Plains, NY, his brother Jim McCarter and wife Kelley of Yulee Florida, his twin brother Jeff McCarter and wife Kristy of Hinsdale, Illinois as well as six nieces and nephews, Matthew Modica, Allison (Dilan) Kluge, and Jack, Will, Max and Ella McCarter.
