My grandma, Mary Ellen Morison, shared almost as much of my life with me as my parents did. I recall every single moment we spent together.
It's difficult to believe she is gone, let alone that she left me without giving me a chance to say goodbye.
I understand that this is the reality of life, even though it may be difficult for me to comprehend and accept.
I wanted her to live at least another ten years so she could meet my children. Although Jesus Christ knows best, I wasn't prepared for her to leave.
May you always walk in the sun and be surrounded by God's blessings. Nobody can ever understand the joy you brought us. We were heartbroken to lose you, yet you weren't gone by yourself. When God called you home that day, a part of us went with you. You were constantly missed and needed. We sobbed a million times. You wouldn't have passed away if love could only have saved you. May you have peace as you sleep and the Lord be with you.
I'd like to share a few Bible scriptures and prayers with you in memory of her.
Revelation 21:4
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”
