Anja King passed away on Saturday, February 112023, at the age of 53.

Anja was born in Miltenberg, Germany on October 28, 1969. She grew up in a Franconian village named Dorfprozelten, right at the edge of the Spessart forrest. She grew up together with her younger sister, Claudia, and her parents, Elke and Heinrich Joseph.

Growing up, she enjoyed judo, soccer, and playing outdoors with her friends. She was remembered as a very energetic and driven person.

After graduating from High School, Anja started an apprenticeship to become a mechanic. Later on, she went back to school to become a Mechanical Engineer, a profession which she has enjoyed for the rest of her long lasting professional career. All that while raising her son, Daniel, which she has received at a very early age.

In 2006, Anja fulfilled her dream and emigrated to the US where she landed in Houston, Texas. She even became a US citizen in 2018 while still holding on to her roots in Germany and keeping dual citizenship.

She has achieved and experienced many things after emigrating to the US.  She worked for many years in Oil & Gas, had her own patent, managed a factory shop, fundraised huts and feeding stations for stray cats, started a bakery business, helped cleaning up after hurricane Harvey, played in organized soccer teams, witnessed her son’s college graduation and wedding, received a granddaughter, and lastly made many long lasting friendships.

She was an amazingly strong, courageous, generous and unique woman. She was the best friend of those who were allowed to share her life. Her many friends were in awe of her strength and ability to turn her focus on the positive. Through ups and downs, she always maintained a positive outlook on life and the possibilities it offered. She will be tremendously missed – a void that cannot ever be filled.
