"Dear Ones,
I was saddened to hear of Carolyn's death. Sad for us but not for her for she is surely with the Lord. The first time we met, she came into my townhouse on Wakeforest, wet sandaled and looking shocked and tired. She had come home from work only to find her own apartment flooded by rising waters during a rain storm. We lived together for about six months and they were precious months. Your mother was one of the most spiritual humans I have ever known. With her own difficulties and loss, she often comforted me because it was a hard time in my own life. She was gentle, sweet and left her own prints upon my life. I will always love her.
Out of respect for a private funeral service, I will not attend but will be praying for her and all of you.
Love, Sonja Earthman Novo"

"We are so sorry to hear about Carolyn's passing. She sounded like a person who lived life to the fullest. The few times we saw her when we were in Texas, she was so kind and thoughtful. She will surely be missed."
