Entro a la Congragación de las Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa el 22 de marzo de 1957 a la edad de 19 años.Tomo Habito el 6 de diciembre de 1957 en la Ciudad de México. Emitió sus primeros votos: el 10 de diciembre de 1959 en la Ciudad de México
Votos perpetuos el 8 de diciembre de 1964 en Houston, TX. La Hna. Teresa entregó su vida a la Iglesia como Carmelita Misionera de Santa Teresa por 69 años. Entre las cualidades de la Hna. María Teresa fue la sencillez y la humildad. Trabajadora, con mucha facilidad de conversar con los demás, muy amable, alegre, sonriente. Muy agradecida y sacrificada. Fue una persona muy comunicativa, honesta, trasparente y muy caritativa, lo que le pedían lo hacía con amor.
Comenzó su apostolado en el colegio de Acámbaro, Guanajuato en 1959. Luego sirvió en diferentes apostolados entre ellos en el Seminario del “Inmaculado Corazón de María” en Perú, Illinois, seminario de San Luis Misuri y Casa de Oración Monte Carmelo en Houston, TX.

She entered the Congregation of the Missionary Carmelites of St. Teresa on March 22, 1957 at the age of 19. She entered the Novitiate on December 6th, 1957 in Mexico City. Made her first vows on the 10th of December 1959 and Final Vows on December 8th, 1964 in Houston, TX.
Sr. Teresa gave her life to the Church as a Missionary Carmelite of St. Teresa for 69 years. Among the qualities of Sr. María Teresa was simplicity and humility. Hard-working, easy to converse with others, very kind, cheerful, smiling. Very grateful, sacrificed. She was a person who was communicative, honest, transparent and very charitable never denied what was asked of her.
She began her apostolate in a school in Acambaro, Guanajuato in 1959. Then she served in different apostolates among them in the seminary of the “Immaculate Heart of Mary” Peru, Illinois, seminary of St. Luis, Missouri and Mt. Carmel House of prayer in Houston, TX.
Sister Mary Gomez passed away on Thursday April 27, 2023.
May she rest in peace.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Missionary Carmelites of St. Teresa, 9548 Deer Trail Dr., Houston, Texas 77038. The Rite of Committal will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston Texas.
