Obituary of Charles Michael Hill

Charles Michael “Mike” Hill passed peacefully on June 5, 2023 with his sister, Elizabeth, by his side.

Mike was born July 27, 1946 in Dallas Texas. He was raised by John Joseph Hill, Jr. and Patricia Opal Hill in Galveston, Texas, where he attended St. Patrick’s School and Kirwin High School. He excelled scholastically, loved being in the band, debate and extemporaneous speaking. He was a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Texas in linguistics.

He pursued a lifetime career as a computer analyst and programmer. Mike worked for many years in Galveston and then relocated to San Francisco where he made his home. He was an avid reader, loved the theater and opera. His favorite games were chess, bridge and scrabble.

Mike will be remembered for his love of life, brilliance, breadth of knowledge, his gift for words and generosity of spirit but most of all for his grace and courage as he dealt with a lengthy disease.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Joseph Hill, Jr. and Patricia Opal Hill. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Ann Hill.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Lock Dr., The Woodlands, Texas on June 9, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
