Obituary of Maria "Linda" Lozano
Maria “Linda” Lozano, born October 2, 1953, in Harlingen Texas to Jim Hodges Sr. and Maria Alicia Hodges, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 70 years young, in League City, Texas at home with her family by her side.
Linda is survived by her Husband, Juan Antonio Lozano of 49 years; Daughter Mytae Isabel Levins, Husband Detrick of 14 years, and Children Jarvis, Nina, Cordell, Callum, and Cabo; Son Marco Antonio Lozano, Wife Leticia of 21 years, Children Maryssa; Son Mario Alberto Lozano, Wife Melissa of 18 years, Children Diego, Victorio, Melina, Sophia, Antonio; Chosen Daughter Meg Hamlett, Husband Kenneth of 25 years, Children Sadie, Tyler and granddaughter Olivia and Chosen Granddaughter Hannah Jefferson.
As a devoted Catholic, Linda devoted her life to her family alongside her Husband, Juan. Linda was a Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary member and the Belles of St. Mary’s of the Expectation Catholic Church. Linda’s faith showed through in her daily life as she selflessly put those in need before her own, always putting others first in prayer. Her beautiful, energetic smile, a beacon of love, made everyone feel welcome, bringing the best out of all of us. Linda had a heart of gold and treated everyone with kindness and sincere love.
Linda’s calling in life was to care for children. She began her calling volunteering for the Head Start Program in Chicago, Illinois and continued her calling in Texas. Here in Texas, Linda’s passion led her to open her own Childcare out of her home where she applied her gift for more than 30 years. During this time, Linda completed her Associate of Applied Science with Honors in Child Development on May 7, 2004. Her gifts having been recognized by her peers; Linda was asked to be an instructor for Collaborative for Children for several years. Linda’s vocation was highlighted with the Initiatives for Children, Kathleen Rowland Excellence in Child Care Award Finalist in 2002 and The First National Caregiver of the Year in 2007 presented by Congressman Ron Paul in Washington DC.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 6pm for her Viewing and 7pm for a Celebration of Life Vigil. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, during 9:30am Mass, Reception to follow, as there will be an intimate burial with immediate family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. All services will take place at: St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church 1612 E. Walker St. League City, Texas 77573.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Detrick L. Levins, Marco A. Lozano, Mario A. Lozano, Jarvis M. Levins, Diego A. Lozano, and Victorio A. Lozano.
Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Mary’s of the Expectation Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
